"Het Stuck" by The Pomelo Theatre Group

EN: Two actors meet in a rehearsal space. They talk about their meeting, phones, food, and theater. Anything to kill time… The Play is about patience, friendship, and the power of time, direction, and the audience. A short performance with two actors, in a student room, in honor of Stukafest. What happens to them as they keep waiting, and do they even know what they’re waiting for? The Pomelo Theater Group was formed to produce a short performance for festivals. The
goal was to create a fun performance together with the actors, in which they could provide input and explore interesting themes. We began our exploration with the topic of “contact.” After some searching and refining, the result is a performance about the connection between two kindred spirits, waiting for a profound higher power.

NL: Twee acteurs komen samen in een repetitieruimte. Ze hebben het over hun ontmoeting, telefoons, eten en theater. Alles om de tijd te doden… Het Stuk gaat over geduld, vriendschap en de macht van tijd, regie en het publiek. Een korte voorstelling met twee spelers, in een studentenkamer, ter ere van Stukafest. Wat overkomt ze als ze blijven wachten, en weten ze zelf wel waarop? Toneelgroep Pomelo is gevormd om een korte voorstelling te produceren voor festivals. Het doel was een leuke voorstelling maken samen met de spelers, waarin zij input konden geven en interessante thema’s konden onderzoeken. We startten ons onderzoek met het onderwerp ‘contact’. Na wat zoeken en schaven is hier een voorstelling uitgekomen over het contact tussen twee lotgenoten, die wachten op een ingrijpende hogere macht.
