Podium Luid
ENG – Podium Luid is a cultural event founded by Yulai Smits and Yasmin de Vries. It is a program night with the goal of creating a safe space for young artists to share their art and get inspired by each other’s work. All art is appreciated and everyone is welcome. The art we may see ranges from spoken word to stand-up, theater and more.
Ort Willems: Art to discover, excite and confront.
Ort, 22, a student at HKU, has some time ago completed his studies in Restoration/Decoration. During this course, he quickly discovered that working within the lines is not for him – literally and figuratively. His art revolves around everything he encounters in life, using paint to explore the wonders of the brain, both the beautiful and the dark sides. Emotion is so often his compass. Ort paints not to please, but to discover, excite and confront. Sometimes a little chaos is is exactly what is needed to tell the real story.
Amélie Esmee: Amsterdam-based 20-year-old singer-songwriter Amélie Esmee writes ear-pleasing music, inviting you to experience her inner world. She has a fondness for the Dutch language. Thus, she chooses her words in all simplicity, and knows how to put them in an original way. Her songs carry a deep feeling of melancholic nature. Inspired by a wide range of artists, from Bløf and Norah Jones to Olivia Dean, Amélie Esmee and her guitar create a dream world together.
Hannah Creutzburg: Hannah Creutzburg is a dancer, a creator and a teacher. Inspired by contemporary dance but also by all the influences of life, she will perform improvised dance.Photos by Sjoerd Derine
NL – Podium Luid is een cultureel evenement opgericht door Yulai Smits en Yasmin de Vries. Het is een programma-avond met als doel het creëren van een veilige ruimte voor jonge kunstenaars om hun kunst in te delen en inspiratie op te doen van elkaars werk. Elk werk wordt gewaardeerd en iedereen is welkom. De kunst die we mogen zien varieert van spoken word tot stand-up, theater en nog veel meer.
Ort Willems: Kunst om te ontdekken, opwekken en confronteren.
Ort, 22 jaar en student aan de HKU, heeft al enige tijd geleden zijn studie Restauratie/Decoratie afgerond. Tijdens deze opleiding ontdekte hij al snel dat werken binnen de lijntjes niets voor hem is—letterlijk en figuurlijk. Zijn kunst draait om alles wat hij in het leven tegenkomt, waarbij hij verf gebruikt om de wonderen van het brein te verkennen, zowel de mooie als de donkere kanten. Emotie is zo vaak zijn kompas. Ort schildert niet om te behagen, maar om te ontdekken, opwekken en te confronteren. Soms is een beetje chaos precies wat nodig is om het echte verhaal te vertellen.
De 20-jarige singer-songwriter Amélie Esmee uit Amsterdam schrijft oorstrelende muziek, waarbij ze je uitnodigt haar persoonlijke gedachtenwereld te betreden. Ze heeft een voorliefde voor de Nederlandse taal. Zo kiest zij in alle eenvoud haar woorden, en weet deze op originele wijze te verklanken. Haar liedjes verraden een diep gevoel van melancholische aard. Geïnspireerd door een breed scala aan artiesten, van Bløf en Norah Jones tot Olivia Dean, creëert Amélie Esmee samen met haar gitaar een droomwereld, verpakt in een zoet jasje.
Hannah Creutzburg is een danser, een maker en een docent. Geïnspireerd door contemporary dans maar ook door alle invloeden van het leven zal ze hier improviserend haar dans tonen.
