Nemo Vos

ENG – Tibor de Jong is best known under the pseudonym Nemo Vos. He is an Utrecht-based artist and graduate of St. Joost School of Art & Design Breda. Nemo Vos creates poetic work using 3D software, scans, and film. In his work, both the physical and visual aspects of VR are utilized to explore a new way of storytelling.A recurring theme in his work is humanity, the human, us, in times of polarization and digitalism. With the latter he has created various animated music films and VR-projects, generating dreamflights for adults through abstract virtual worlds. His last VR work 8 Billion Selves was selected for film festivals all around the world and won the award for Best VR Experience at the Bolton Film Festival.

NL – Nemo Vos is een Nederlandse VR filmmaker die door middel van 3D software,-scans en -film, poëtische werk maakt. In zijn werk worden zowel het lichamelijke als het visuele aspect van VR gebruikt om een nieuwe vorm van vertellen te zoeken. Een terugkerend thema in zijn werk is menselijkheid, de mens, wij, in tijden van polarisatie en digitalisme. Door samenwerking met andere kunstvormen (bijvoorbeeld muzikanten, acteurs en parfumeurs) maakt hij liveshows waarin de grenzen tussen de “echte” tactiele, analoge wereld en de virtuele VR wereld worden vervaagd en opgezocht. Zijn laatste VR werk 8 Miljard Ikken werd geselecteerd voor film festivals over de hele wereld en won de prijs voor beste VR experience op het Bolton Film Festival.
